She did so well setting up the world in the PI series I knew going in what to expect but still ie managed to add to it for me.
Nothing new or novel there. The chemistry between Juliana and Ashe is off the charts. Oct 29, Nessa rated it really liked it. A lot’ and then he tells her that he’s only half way there! For vampires the Burning is sacred to them, but Ashe did everything he could to try to overcome this and even get rid of it.
This goes on for the majority of the book and by the time Ashe realises he’s been an ass it’s of course nearly too late.
Then, a mysterious dark-eyed beauty reluctantly offered him shelter. Dec 29, Darcy rated it it was ok Shelves: While her plan was platonic, his wasn’t. But I still didn’t like it. Yet he is determined to lead a “normal” life, ignoring the unsettling dreams in which he succumbs to his wildest desires…Until psychic Molly Stratton tracks him down, claiming to share his sensual nightmares. Ashe is everything you want in an alpha male — gorgeous, strong, deadly, protective, stubborn, and take no prisoners.
Boy was that an understatement. Some people are saying it’s a spin off, some people are saying it’s a continuation of the series, however if you haven’t read the rest of the Primal Instincts series it might not work as well for you as it should.
As the story progresses we get a closer look into the real feelings connecting the two main characters and see just how deeply they care for one another.
Reflections on Reading Romance: Review of Rhyannon Byrd’s Deadly is the Kiss
I know this review makes it seem like I didn’t enjoy this book, that isn’t true. So when evil struck, she had no choice but to ally herself with the sexy guardian vampire. IF she has sex with him – because, yeah, that will ease the “burning”. Now, months later, Ashe is back and tempting Juliana to reveal her darkest secrets…and desires.

Then she runs straight to Ashe who was told where to find her by supposedly the same unknown person. Together, they are dynamite. He knows, even if she didn’t come to him first, that he’d have hunted her down and made her safe regardless but now he’s in a position to bargain.
Very good, a little steamy With scorching interludes to relieve the Burning, of course!
She’s craved this male almost as much as he claims to have craved her so why not enjoy him while she has him? And Ashe has a price for his help–relief from the Burning. A unique part of this vampire story is how male vampires will feel the ‘BURNING’ once his body recognizes its mate, and it will consume him if he doesn’t make the bond. First of all I was under the impression this was a new series, my mistake, and I’m not up to date with the Primal series by Ms.
Yet, how can he refuse to help the one woman that makes him Burn with his species form of mating? And then despite lying almost the entire time about Raphe D Not the biggest fan of Julianna in this book. But Juliana was just ok for me, not great not bad, just your average heroine that has some TSTL moments but that has a bit of a tortured past so you can’t help but feel bad for her.
Deadly Is the Kiss by Rhyannon Byrd – FictionDB
Their grudge is not with Ashe and when he stands in their way to the ultimate prize, all bets are off and Rhyannon gives readers enough fist fights, blood and gore to keep the action alive throughout.
Plagued by vicious and uncontrollable impulses, he lives in fear of surrendering to real love. While Deadly is the Kiss could have been a really good read, it didn’t grab your attention long enough to make you feel connected to any of the characters. I can only compare it to someone reading Gyrd.
I liked her ability to balance the adventure and the romance plot threads with a great attention to details for both.
This book was amazing!!! Likewise for the heroine in terms of men. She and the rest of her family were exiled to the Wastelands — an area for criminals. Of course she claims their innocence. For fans of the Primal Instinct series, this book is designed to do two things: Throughout much of the book, we’re treated to Ashe’s trust issues and bad attitude, towards Juliana and the situation, and Juliana’s inability to stay out of trouble and do what she’s told – yet they just can’t seem to keep their hands off each other.
Sep 19, Tash rated it really liked it. Of course, since the burning attraction was mutual, and she didn’t have much to lose, why not?
